The benefit concert, Music for Eliana, that was held on October 2nd at Velvet Jones was amazing!
We sincerely thank everyone that took the time to come out and support Eliana, Sam, and Michael.
Thank you to all those that contributed prizes to the amazing raffle (shoutouts to the bottom left side of this page) and a special thank you to those who performed: Change, Santa Barbara City College Songwriters, Fresh, and The Little Heroes.

Words can not begin to express how saddened Luciano and I are for the pain that Eliana is going through. It has been a little over a week since this all happened but it has seemed like an eternity. The strength you both have shown is truly an inspiration and we praise both of you and continue to encourage your strength for Eliana and one another. The out pouring of love and support has been AMAZING and the three of you are truly blessed. We as many will continue to pray, love, support and have faith that Eliana will have a speedy recovery and come home soon to those that love and miss her. It was very special to us to have been there that night of September 17th in the hospital room to see her baptized and be a part of that very special moment for everyone that was in that room. A baby being baptized only happens once and to have witnessed that was truly special. Luciano and I have been and will continue to be here for the three of you in whatever is needed from us day or night we are just a phone call away. We picked G to be the godfather of our son because we knew he would always be there to love and support him, and for Luciano to be Eliana’s Godfather know that Luciano will do the same for Eliana love and support always. God has a plan for each of us in this lifetime and even though we may not understand or agree with them at times, he always has a purpose and will continue to hold our hands through it all. Continue to love, and have faith in God, and that he gives the doctors the wisdom to heal Little Miss Eliana. She is such a precious child and you can see that just by looking at her. We love the three of you very much.
Love the Velez Family,
Nino Luciano, Lisa & Michael
I was awakened at 12:45 a.m. on September 17th to the phone ringing. Everyone knows that when the phone rings in the middle of the night it is usually not good news. My initial reaction to the news of Eliana’s condition was shock, how could this be happening???! I was absolutely speechless and then I began to pray, and I prayed hard! I stayed up all night long praying and thinking about my own children. I cannot fathom what Sam & Michael are going through, but I can say that the three of them are fighters and by the grace of God, they will pull through this.
I am amazed and very touched by the outpouring of love and support that they have received from friends and strangers. I am proud to be a part of a community and group of friends that is so willing to help them get through this trying time in their life. I know, from personal experience, that the love & support they are receiving during a difficult time like this is what helps them get through the days and nights.
We must continue to pray for Eliana’s speedy and full recovery and we must continue to pray that God will bring comfort and strength to Michael, Sam & their families.
Michael, Sam & Eliana~ we love you and we are here for you. May God bless & keep you. We cannot wait until you are all home safe and healthy.
It is known to be said that “God answers our call.” The question is are we listening?
September 17, we awoke to an unusual cry from our daughter Eliana, apparent that something was terribly wrong we rushed her to Cottage Hospital. A CAT-scan indicated bleeding in her brain from a mass. We were then air lifted to Children’s Hospital in L.A. where an MRI confirmed a tumor.
On September 22nd Eliana had brain surgery and the tumor was successfully removed. The tumor is cancerous and Eliana will need chemotherapy.
We are grateful to the many friends, family and even strangers who have held us in prayer.
We have been blessed with a room at the Ronald McDonald house here in L.A., which is just two blocks from the hospital.
You may or may not know that Eliana means God has answered.
Yes we are listening, Thank you God for our little Angel, Eliana.
